Masters Of The Universe Movie Still On The Way
He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe is one of the most popular 80's franchises of all time. Dolph Lundren starred in a ridiculously cheesy film in the 80's called Masters Of The Universe in which he starred as He-Man. A new film has been rumored for years and according to Sony it's still on the way. Sony vice president DeVon Franlin has offered an update recently saying the following: "One of other things I'm really excited about is we're doing a reboot of the 1980s franchise Masters of the Universe. The He-Man franchise. Very excited about that. Should have that script very soon. I'm praying that we can start figuring out how we're going to make it." TMIAJ will keep you posted n further developments!

300 Prequel Gets A New Title
300 was a monster hit based on the graphic novel by Frank Miller. The film was ass kicking fun and most people liked it. It should probably be left alone but like everything now days in Hollywood, if it's successful they want more. Frank Miller is currently working on Xerces, the prequel graphic novel to 300. The film will have a different title though, 300: Battle For Artemisia. Zach Snyder is still on as a producer but with him bust with Superman: The Man Of Steel the director reigns will be handed to either Noam Nurro or Juam Collet-Serra. Who the hell are they you ask? We asked the same question. We will see how this turns out or if even sees the light of day.
By the way, we figured the Queen of Sparta was much better to look at than Xerces ugly mug.

The Holocron: The End Of Star Wars Galaxies
Welcome to the first edition of The Holocron. The Holocron is a place to rant, review, or just talk about something cool in the genre that is science fiction, comic books, and more! The first edition of The Holocron takes a look back at one of the most popular MMO's of the last ten years.
The End Of Star Wars Galaxies
Star Wars Galaxies is the extremely popular massive multiplayer online universe from Lucasarts and Sony Online Entertainment. I began playing SWG in August of 2003, just a month after launch and I played pretty solidly until mid- 2008. I suffered through the combat changes and even through the NGE (New Game Enhancement) changes that dumbed the game down greatly. At one point SWG was one of the best games ever assembled in it's prime just before the first combat change, and it was still an outstanding game after the change once you got use to it. The game featured multiple Star Wars races, planets, weapons, creatures, and was litered with characters from the films throughout the universe for you to visit. SWG was the Star Wars universe at your fingertips and it was incredible. Many of us spent countless hours grinding our Teras Kasi, Smuggler, or Bounty Hunter, and then grinded some more to unlock our Jedi slot. then there was the Jedi grind. Yes at times the game was about grinding but it was also about community. I met some great people through SWG that I am still in touch with today. I ran a guild for four years that at one point was one of the largest and best Rebel guilds on the Tempest server not only by name but our reputation was outstanding as being some of the best players to play with. Weather it was running dungeons such as the Genosian cave or just hanging out in the cantina's watching dancers and being goofy, there was always something fun to do in SWG and it was with great people too!
Sadly, SOE and Lucasarts have just announced that Star Wars Galaxies will be shutting down in December. Perhaps it's because Star Wars The Old Republic is coming out and they don't think two Star Wars Online games can survive. Or perhaps SWG has just ran it's course. Either way I am sad about this. It brought so many amazing game memories and experiences, and along with that came great friends. I'm a Star Wars junkie, and when I was playing SWG, I got to live the Star Wars experience the best anyone could. The game will be missed by many fans, and will be remembered also for the good and the bad. It will be remembered for those late nights of playing with a group as we killed Rancors for XP points. It will be remembered for in game "weddings" amongst friends. It will be remembered for the smile you got on your face for the first time you ignited your lightsaber after earning Jedi. It will be remembered for taking us to a galaxy far far away and giving us the experience of a lifetime. Thank you Star Wars Galaxies for eight fantastic years.

3D Christopher Reeve Superman Tribute
We found this yesterday and posted it on the TMIAJ Facebook page but thought we would share it here too. This was apparently created a few months ago in tribute to actor Christopher Reeve who played Superman in the original series of films. It's done in 3D animation on a home computer and is really quite stunning and deserves to be seen.

The Boondock Saints Headed To Television?
The original Boondock Saints film is a modern cult classic. It's 2009 sequel wasn't as well recieved and an overall weak film. Troy Duffy, the director of both, has been talking up a third film lately but now it seems The Boondock Saints could go television. Duffy recently spoke about the project and indicated that franchise stars Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus would return as the McManus brothers for this small screen project.
"We've been approached to do a possible Boondock Saints TV series. So the fans may be getting a part 3 as a television show. We might be able to pull that off....I actually called both Sean and Norman and they both said 'Hell yeah, we'll drop everything.'
When asked if the possible TV suitor is a cable network such as HBO or AMC, Troy Duffy simply replied, "That is correct." Cable networks would allow for the type of violence and language fans of Boondock Saints have come to expect and enjoy in this particular movie series.

The Wolverine Lands A Director
The Wolverine has been searching for a director for a few months after Daren Aronofsky dropped off the film. now it seems they have found one in the form of James Mangold. he is best known for the films Walk The Line and 3:10 To Yuma and recently made the mediocre Knight And Day. No production date is started but the film is still apparently on track for a 2012 release date.

Star Wars Television Show Still At Least 3 Years Away
A few years ago when The Clone Wars animated series started, George Lucas also said that a live action television show. Well a few years have gone by and not much word on it. The Czech Position got a hold of producer Rick McCallum and here's what he had to say: McCallum was asked whether the Czech capital was in the running for the series. "Oh, absolutely. This would be one of the primary places because of the talent," he said. McCallum produced Lucasfilm's upcoming Red Tails, which was also shot in the Czech Republic.
"The TV series is on hold, but that has nothing to do with the Czech Republic; it has to do with [the episodes being] so ambitious," he added. "We have 50 hours of third-draft scripts, but the problem we have is there is a lot of digital animation; we don't have the technology yet to be able to do them at a price that is safe for television. Since we would be financing them, it would be suicide for us to do this [now]. So we are going to wait three or four years."
Still, the "Star Wars" TV series may never see the light of day, McCallum mentioned. "Network television and cable television as we know it are completely imploding, so we're not really sure that in five years' time we can release a dramatic one-hour episode because it is all reality TV now."
The producer also revealed the basic storyline of the scripts. "It takes place between episodes three and four, when Luke Skywalker was growing up as a teenager, but it has nothing to do with Luke... Basically, it is like 'The Godfather'; it's the Empire slowly building up its power base around the galaxy, what happens in Coruscant, which is the major capital, and it's [about] a group of underground bosses who live there and control drugs, prostitution."
