Avengers Promo Poster

The Avengers hits theaters next summer as everyone knows.  The movie is currently filming and all kinds of rumors are swirling about a teaser trailer as early as a few weeks from now.  Really no one knows.  What we do know is that this is the first promo poster for the film at the The Licensing International Expo where retailers and theater owners look at upcoming properties, promotional materials etc.  Basically studios are selling their product and this is the first poster used to sell The Avengers.

The Avengers Begins Filming

The Avengers officially began principal photography yesterday and the first official photo from the set was released.  The Avengers will hit theaters summer 2012.

No one knows if The Avengers movie will be any good but as fan boys, everyone is excited for it and the full cast announcement at Comic-Con 2010 go the internet and fans everywhere extremely excited!

Inception

Leave it to Christopher Nolan to renew people's faith that Hollywood can come up with original ideas.  This mind blowing movie was incredible and it plays very well on multiple viewings.








2010 also saw the announcement of all six Star films returning in 2012 to theaters in 3D, video games continue to boom, we got excited about the trailer for Thor, we dug seeing Predators on the screen again, we said goodbye to Lost, and Cruise is returning to Mission: Impossible, but now we move on to 2011 and right now here's #2 on our top 10 of 2010!

#2 The Walking Dead Take Over Our TV's

 On Halloween The Walking Dead premiered on television.  There's no doubt that AMC made a mistake only ordering six episodes since after the first episode ratings went through the roof.  People who weren't into comic books were watching this show because it's that damn good.  The comic went from obscurity to extremely popular and now we all wait for season two.  Not only is the show a huge success but it opens doors for more comics to look to television to tell their stories instead of film.  If you missed it we highly recommend you check it out when AMC replays it or when it hits DVD in March.  It's exhilarating, well acted, and just plain bad ass tv!

Top Ten Of 2010 At TMIAJ Part One

2010 has been a banner year for TMIAJ as the site has taken off and done well and thanks for everyone's support.  We started daily coverage of things instead of just a post here or there, we have a facebook page and a twitter account, and we get a good amount of daily visitors.  We may not be the best but we try to be fun and just bring you the same stuff we dig!  So here is the first part of our Top 10 of 2010 at TMIAJ!


#10 Chris Evans Announced To Play Captain America

Not since the announcement of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine has the anticipation of a casting choice been anxiously awaited.  Who would play the Star Spangled Avenger?  Turns out it would be Chris Evans and as usual it was a love it or hate it choice with fan boys and the final verdict is yet to be seen, as Captain America: The First Avenger hits theaters in summer 2011.








#9 TGIF Girl & Retroplex Cinema Features

Fan boys dig hot chicks and so does TMIAJ so we started this weekly feature that we keep as at work safe as we can because this is a PG-13 site!  Turns out we knew you would like it as the weekly TGIF Girl gets regular page views!  The other very popular feature is Retroplex Cinema.  Revisiting old films is a great past time and apparently you all think so too as our Retroplex Cinema feature stories have proved to be very popular and we will keep them coming!

We didn't attend Comic-Con but TMIAJ did bring you the best coverage we could through out comic-con weekend including the latest information from all the big properties including The Avengers as seen to the left.

New Hulk TV Show In The Works

Marvel continues to move forward with numerous movie and television projects, now it seems the Hulk is making it's way back to television on ABC.  The Hulk was of course an extremely popular television show in the late 70's and early 80's starring Bill Bixby and Lou Ferringo  There are no creators attached to this, as it is being shopped for writers and development.  The Hulk will play a major role in the upcoming Avengers movie in 2012 directed by Joss Whedon.

Comic-Con 2010: Thor Footage Description & The Avengers Cast!

    The Marvel Studios Panel also featured the first bit of footage from Thor! It starts with lightning and then it shows a S.H.I.E.L.D. base where Clark Gregg's Agent Coulson is interrogating someone chained to a chair. It's Chris Hemsworth's Thor, and Coulson gives a long monologue asking him where he got his training. We see a bit of footage of Thor in action sans hammer taking down the S.H.I.E.L.D. soldiers who are trying to stop him.

     "Who are you?" asks Coulson and Thor looks up.

     We then see what looks like a constellation system and we hear a voice-over by Anthony Hopkins as Odin as we see the golden buildings of Asgard and the camera goes into the throne room where he's giving a big speech to his son, who is kneeling at the base of the throne. We see glimpses of each of the Asgardian Gods including Sif, Balder and the Warriors Three, and Idris Elba's Heimdall. Odin is obviously mad at Thor and he says that he's going to take his power and banish him for his actions, sending a bolt that sends Thor down through the constellation where he lands in the desert and is found by Natalie Portman's Jane Foster. We then see Hemsworth walking around shirtless and impressing Foster and her assistant Darcy (played by Kat Dennings).

    After this an Avengers teaser was shown, just the logo with a Samuel L. Jackson voiceover and then the cast was introduced one by one,   Jackson was introduced and then he brings out Clark Gregg, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America... and then Robert Downey Jr. came out as Tony Stark and the crowd went crazy. He then introduced and confirmed that playing Clint Barton is.... Jeremy Renner... and "reprising his role as Bruce Banner... Mark Ruffalo!"  He then brought out director Joss Whedon, who said that he had always had a dream, presumably about directing e, "but my dream was never this good!"  Finally a picture of the entire cast of The Avengers on stage!

Comic-Con 2010: Mark Ruffalo Confirmed As Bruce Banner

This was all but confirmed a few days ago, but now it's confirmed.  Mark Ruffalo will be playing Bruce Banner/The Hulk in Joss Whedon's upcoming The Avengers movie.  Edward Norton revived the film series with his portrayal in The Incredible Hulk, but differences between him and Marvel Studios as pushed him out and Ruffalo in.
