First Look At The Green Lantern Animated Series

The Green Lantern Animated Series hits Cartoon Network this Fall in a mini series before going to a full season and here is the first look at footage from the series.  It's only 7 seconds but worth checking out!

DC Nation Comes To Cartoon Network

The Cartoon Network released details on upcoming lineups for the 20111 season and beyond.  With the additions of  The Looney Tunes Show, and Thundercats coming to the network they also announced that the Green Lantern Animated Series will debut in the fall with a mini series before the show begins airing regularly in 2012.  Green Lantern, based upon the DC Comics super hero, the series is an all-new CG animated action series from Warner Bros. As Earth’s Green Lantern, Hal Jordan is used to being in dangerous situations—but he’s never faced anything like this! Set at the farthest reaches of deep space, Hal must face down an invasion from the Red Lantern Corps. Hal is soon joined by an all-new group of heroes on a mission to protect Guardian Space —and the Green Lantern Corps itself! DC Nation will be "populated with event programming, interstitials, exclusive behind-the-scenes of theatrical production and an insider look into the world of all things DC." Warner Bros. Animation will produce the block.

Green Lantern The Animated Series Concept Art & Details

A panel was held at New York Comic-Con this past weekend and much was revealed about the upcoming Green Lantern The Animated Series.  Here are some show details followed by some concept art.

The show will run for at least 26 episodes, with the first 13 episodes already planned out.
 
The main villains of the show will be the Red Lanterns, although the other coloured Lanterns will show up at some point.
 
Sinestro will not feature in the first 13 episodes, although he will be getting built up over the course of the series for his eventual reveal.
 
This is very much a space-based series, which means the other major DC superheroes won't be making any appearances anytime soon.
 
A preview will come out in late 2011, but the series isn't slated to premiere until the spring of 2012.

Green Animation!

Ne information on the upcoming Green Lantern The Animated Series should be released this weekend at New York Comic-Con.  This psoter has shown up to promote the upcoming series that will debut in the Fall of 2011. The live action Green Lantern film hits theaters next June as well as a direct-to-DVD animated Green Lantern film, with the new animated series coming next Fall!
