The Wolverine Lands A Director
The Wolverine has been searching for a director for a few months after Daren Aronofsky dropped off the film. now it seems they have found one in the form of James Mangold. he is best known for the films Walk The Line and 3:10 To Yuma and recently made the mediocre Knight And Day. No production date is started but the film is still apparently on track for a 2012 release date.

Aronofsky Not Directing The Wolverine
Darren Aronofsky will not be directing The Wolverine. This is sucky news no doubt as he would have made a pretty awesome flick.
Statements from the director and Fox are as follows: "As I talked more about the film with my collaborators at Fox, it became clear that the production of ‘The Wolverine’ would keep me out of the country for almost a year. I was not comfortable being away from my family for that length of time. I am sad that I won't be able to see the project through, as it is a terrific script and I was very much looking forward to working with my friend, Hugh Jackman, again."
Fox had this to say: "While we are of course disappointed that Darren can’t do ‘The Wolverine’, we also understand and respect his reasons. Having done both ‘The Wrestler’ and ‘Black Swan’ with Darren, we know he is an extraordinary talent and we look forward to working with him on other projects in the future. Hugh Jackman and Fox both remain fully committed to making ‘The Wolverine’. We will regroup and move forward aggressively."
Where this leaves The Wolverine is anyone's guess. Apparently the film hasn't even officially been green lit even though script and some pre-production work has been done including Jackman himself bulking up for the role. It's quite possible the thing could fall apart completely. We will keep you posted.

The Wolverine Is Going To Be Bad Ass So Says Hugh Jackman

"We finally have the character and with this mythology — ever since X-MEN when I was kind of hanging around and reading all these comics, because I was cast before I ever read any X-Men comics, so I was trying to get my hands on everything. I remember saying to Lauren Shuler Donner, “Lauren, I don’t know about you, but I’ve seen this Japanese story, and I think it’s so good. It’s just genius, it’s brilliant. Chris McQuarrie has done a script that is just phenomenal. I read a story once that said that he wrote THE USUAL SUSPECTS in 15 days, and with this one he said to me, “I just knew what I wanted, and it came out real easy.” And he’s done an unbelievable job with it."
So it looks like The Wolverine is shaping up to be much better than it's predecessor and with Darren Aronofsky at the helm it should be awesome.

The Wolverine Coming To Theaters
Director Darren Aronofsky has revealed the title for the next Wolverine movie starring Hugh Jackman. The movie will be called The Wolverine, will not be a direct sequel X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Aronofsky told HitFix that The Wolverine will be a "one-off," or standalone project. The script, written by Christopher McQuarrie, involves Logan beginning a forbidden romance with a Japanese woman whose hand in marriage is, unfortunately, promised to another man. Since Logan won't take "no" for an answer, it puts him into battle with her father and her samurai-sword-wielding brothers.
