Getting caught up some news as TMIAJ continues to work on site improvements!

-- Hugo Weaving (Mr. Smith in The Matrix Trilogy) has signed on to play the Red Skull in The First Avenger: Captain America


-- Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass) has signed on to direct X-Men: First Class. It's due in theaters June 3, 2011. I'm all for another X-Men film but that seems awfully quick to get it in theaters. Last time that happened it was called X-Men Origins: Wolverine and look how that turned out.

-- Iron Man 2 hits theaters tomorrow so go check it out.

-- Warner Brothers announced that the first trailer for the Green Lantern film will be on the Blue Ray/DVD of the Clash Of the Titans remake hitting stores this July.

Kardashian Naked And A TMIAJ Update

SO there hasn't been a lot of new updates at TMIAJ lately but there is much more coming as a revamp of the blog is in the works so keep checking back.  In the meantime here's Kim Kardashian naked in the new Bazarr magazine!

Chris Evans Is Captain America

The First Avenger: Captain America will hit theaters in July 2011, and Chris Evans will be the Star Spangled Avenger.  As rumored over the weekend, Evans has taken the role and shooting begins in a couple of months.  Great choice by Marvel Studios and director Joe Johnston!  Finding the right actor to play Captain America has been pivotal for Marvel Studios because they have grander plans for the character beyond the one film. According to Johnston, "The First Avenger" is an origin story set predominantly during the 1940s, when the red-white-and-blue suited hero first appeared in comics. But the movie will also set up The Avengers -- based on Marvel's long-running team series -- where Captain America will lead a group of superheroes that will include Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man.

In the meantime, Chris Evans has two films set to open this year, both of which also happen to be based on comic books. Next month, he'll play a Special Forces operative in the adaptation of Vertigo Comics The Losers Then in August he will appear in Scott Pilgrim Vs The World, based on the graphic novel series. 

The Human Torch May Play Captain America

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the role of Steve Rodgers a.k.a Captain America has been offered to Chris Evans. He of course played the Human Torch in the not so good Fantastic Four films. I think this could be a good choice though. The guy can play serious and can pull off action so it's his role to lose apparantly.


First Avenger: Captain America is beng directed by Joe Johnston and is expected to begin shooting in the next couple of months.
