According to the Hollywood Reporter, the role of Steve Rodgers a.k.a Captain America has been offered to Chris Evans. He of course played the Human Torch in the not so good Fantastic Four films. I think this could be a good choice though. The guy can play serious and can pull off action so it's his role to lose apparantly.First Avenger: Captain America is beng directed by Joe Johnston and is expected to begin shooting in the next couple of months.
