Brian Cox Joins Rise Of The Apes

Planet Of The Apes is one of my all time favorite science fiction films, and the series as a whole is one of my favorite of all time.  The Tim Burton remake, meh, it could have been better.  That being said I'm curious about Rise Of The Apes, the sorta prequel/re-imagining of the series that hits theaters next June.  The cast is pretty impressive and may get even better as the awesome Brian Cox (X-Men 2, Troy) may be joining the cast.  Cox will play the villainous owner of a primate sanctuary who runs the facility without compassion for the animals that live there.  He will be joining a cast that includes James Franco, John Lithgow, Freida Pinto, and Andy Serkis. The story is set in modern-day San Francisco, where hideous genetic experiments are being carried out on primates. Serkis will of course play a renegade chimp, aided in a battle against Cox by Lithgow and Franco, who play father and son scientists and apparent species traitors.  Rise Of The Apes hits June 24, 2011.
