More Star Wars Blu-Ray Changes

By now you are well aware of the digital Yoda in The Phantom Menace, well now two more changes that have caught wind with fans on the upcoming Star Wars Saga Blu-Ray release have to do with the original trilogy.  In Return Of The Jedi, when The Emperor is torturing Luke as Vader looks on, Vader looks at both of them as he makes his fateful decision, well now he decides to cry out now as he throws The Emperor into the abyss.  Say what?  Yah it's true, it's a minor change but really unnecessary.  Watch the scene below, as well as the change made to Obi-Wan's scare tactic call to the Sand People in A New Hope. (Note: The Obi-Wan change is not confirmed yet)  All these changes but yet we still want Han to shoot first!

New CGI Yoda On Episode I Blu-Rays

The Complete Star Wars Saga hits Blu-Ray in a few weeks, and rumors had been wild that the puppet Yoda was replaced in Episode I - The Phantom Menace with a CGI Yoda.  It's confirmed now as you can see in the video below.  Early reviews are hitting and saying many such small changes have been made to tweak the films on the new Blu-Rays.  Stay tuned for more!

Green Lantern Extended Cut Coming To Blu-Ray

Green Lantern will be hitting DVD and Blu-Ray on October 14th and it's interesting to note that an extended cut will be included on the Blu-Ray edition.  What is being included in this cut is not known yet but TMIAJ will keep you posted.  Specs are as follows:

Superman Returns "Return To Krypton" Deleted Scene

Superman Returns was a love it or hate it film (one that this writer liked a lot) but when the film came out, the opening sequence at the ruins of Krypton was missing!  It was in the novel, the comic, the trading cards, and other tie ins.  Recently it was released on the new Superman Anthology Blu-Ray collection and now you can see the missing sequence here in it's entirety.

Green Lantern: Emerald Knights Announced

Building up to the release of the highly anticipated live action film, Green Lantern, in theaters June 17, Green Lantern: Emerald Knights arrives on Blu-Ray™, DVD, On Demand and for Download June 7 from Warner Premiere, DC Entertainment and Warner Brothers Animation.

Fillion provides the voice of the animated film’s central character Hal Jordan, the human Green Lantern assigned to Sector 2814 (which includes Earth). Fillion has starred in several primetime television series including Desperate Housewives, Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place and Buffy The Vampire Slayer. He has also developed a popular cult following as a pair of Joss Whedon’s heroic captains: Capt. Mal Reynolds in the space-western series Firefly and follow-up film, Serenity; and Captain Hammer in Whedon’s internet sensation Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. Fillion returns to the DC Universe after his successful turn as Steve Trevor in the animated film Wonder Woman, and has performed voice work on Justice League, Robot Chicken, The Venture Bros., and several Halo video games. 

Moss gives voice to Arisia, a young recruit forced into her first mission on just her third day as a Green Lantern. Prior to starring as the ever-evolving Peggy Olson in AMC’s ground-breaking series Mad Men, Moss was featured on The West Wing, Invasion and Picket Fences. Moss has been active in voiceovers for animation with previous roles in Steven Spielberg Presents Animaniacs, Freakazoid! and It’s Spring Training, Charlie Brown!.

The voice cast for the animated Green Lantern: Emerald Knights also features actor/spoken word artist Henry Rollins (Sons of Anarchy, The Henry Rollins Show) as Kilowog, Jason Isaacs (the Harry Potter films) as Sinestro, legendary professional wrestler “Rowdy” Roddy Piper (They Live) as Bolphunga, Arnold Vosloo (The Mummy) as Abin Sur, Kelly Hu (The Vampire Diaries) as Laira and Wade Williams (Prison Break) as Deegan. Radio Hall of Fame commentator/talk show host Michael Jackson voices the esteemed Guardian, Ganthet.

The full-length animated Green Lantern: Emerald Knights complements the Warner Bros. theatrical release of the highly anticipated live-action major motion picture, Green Lantern. The Star Wars Saga On Blu-Ray This September

Five months after George Lucas first discussed it at Celebration V, Lucasfilm, Fox, and Panasonic today announced that the complete Star Wars saga will be released on Blu-Ray in September. The release will include over 30 hours of special features, including never-before-seen material. There will be three box sets, one for all six films and one for each of the trilogies. The complete saga will cost $140 and each trilogy will cost $70.

The announcement was made at the Panasonic booth at the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

The most anticipated Blu-ray release ever -- the Star Wars Saga -- emerges from light speed this September 2011. For the first time, all six of George Lucas' epic films (Episodes I-VI) are united in one complete set. Fans worldwide are able to pre-order now with online retailers.

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will release Star Wars in three distinct sets to meet the needs of every Star Wars fan:

* Star Wars: The Complete Saga on Blu-ray (9-disc Set includes all six films)
* Star Wars: Prequel Blu-ray Trilogy (3-disc set includes Episodes I-III)
* Star Wars: Original Blu-ray Trilogy (3-disc set includes Episodes IV-VI)

STAR WARS: THE COMPLETE SAGA ON BLU-RAY will feature all six live-action Star Wars feature films utilizing the highest possible picture and audio presentation, along with three additional discs and more than 30 hours of extensive special features including never-before-seen deleted and alternate scenes, an exploration of the exclusive Star Wars archives, and much more.

Star Wars: The Complete Saga on Blu-ray will be available for $139.99 US/$179.99 CAN and the Star Wars: Trilogy Sets for $69.99 US/89.99 CAN. Pricing for each set will vary by international territory.

Flanked by a legion of his finest Imperial stormtroopers, Darth Vader himself joined Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment President Mike Dunn at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to announce the release, vowing "The forces of the Empire will be at your disposal to assure the success of this endeavor."

"The Star Wars Saga is the most anticipated Blu-ray collection since the launch of the high-def format," Dunn said. "The epic franchise pioneered sound and visual presentation in theaters and is perfectly suited to do it again in the home, with a viewing experience only possible with Blu-ray."

"And with the quality of high-definition, Blu-ray provides the most immersive home experience possible."

"The Star Wars franchise has been the most anticipated Blu-ray release by Amazon's customers," said Bill Carr, Vice President of Music and Video at Amazon.com. "We think that Star Wars will be incredibly popular with our custoe expect pre-orders to be very strong."
