3-D Star Wars? Not likely.

A rumor has been spreading on the net today about rumblings at Lucasfilm of a brand new Star Wars Trilogy in 3-D. And no not the television show that is coming or the possible re-release of the original trilogy in 3-D, but all new movies. A blog at marketsaw.com says the following.

According to the blog post, "I have been hearing rumblings... extremely quiet at first, but now heating up significantly and from a trusted source - that George Lucas is preparing to unleash another STAR WARS trilogy upon us, this time in stereoscopic 3D. This is NOT the TV series, these are brand spankin' new 3D STAR WARS movies."

And "A lot depends on the success of AVATAR this winter - if it takes off like everyone is expecting it to, then you will most likely see three additional STAR WARS movies added."

Take it for what you want but I wouldn't count on it. In the meantime enjoy Olivia as Leia.
